Financial Education Association of Brazil

With the establishment of ENEF by Decree No. 7.397/2010, the governance structure of the ENEF integrates public and private entities interested in promoting financial education in Brazil. The format preserves the independence of the supervisory bodies of the financial system to develop their own education initiatives.

As a national policy, ENEF shall include the following governance areas:

  • National Financial Education Committee – CONEF: body responsible for direction, supervision and promotion of ENEF. Formed by eight agencies and entities of government and six civil society organizations.

  • Educational Support Group – GAP: advisory body to CONEF as the pedagogical aspects related to financial and pension education. It is composed of representatives from each of the following agencies and organizations:

    Brazil´s Central Bank
    Securities and Exchange Commission
    National Pension Plan
    Private Insurance
    Ministry of Education
    Ministry of Finance
    Ministry of Justice
    Ministry of Social Welfare
    5 Federal Institutions of Education, one per Brazilian region
    National Education Council
    Council of Secretaries of Education
    Union of Municipal Education Managers

    Standing Committee – CP: body established to provide CONEF the necessary technical support to the National Strategy for Financial Education. Integrate the CP representative and an alternate from each entity or body member of CONEF.

    Executive Secretariat: provides administrative support and provides the means to achieve the objectives of CONEF. It is exercised by the Central Bank.

    AEF-Brasil
    AEF-Brazil is a nonprofit organization created in 2011 by ANBIMA, B3, CNSeg and FEBRABAN aiming to coordinate and implement cross-cutting actions the ENEF and promote financial education in Brazil through the development of social and educational technologies related the subject.
